With seven dining areas, including a chef's table in the kitchen, wine cellar, outdoor seating, and window tables overlooking the river, this New York-based steakhouse has taken Chicago meat lovers by storm since its 1998 opening. The decor is "turn of the century" and masculine with dark wood, forest green colors, and startling amounts of sports memorabilia. Châteaubriand for two (one of the house specialties) is divine. |

| | I´ve been there at least 10 times during my visits to Chicago. And they never failed. The meat is extraordinary as is the seafood. Selection of wines does not leave any wishes, and please leave a little room for the fantastic desserts. My favourites are the cajun rib eye which does not show on the lunch menu but you can have it at any time and the creme brulee. Getting in the plane in Europe to Chicago makes me think every time of what I´m going to eat next at Smith´s. |
