They say you can take the boy out of the country but you can't ever take the country out of the boy. That goes a long way toward explaining the huge popularity of this annual event, which seems a bit incongruous in cosmopolitan Edmonton. There are six rounds of fierce competition during the Canadian Finals, held each November at Rexall Place on the Northlands Park Complex. Events include team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, ladies barrel racing, bull riding and bareback riding, all interspersed with fun performances by the rodeo clowns. So grab your hat and giddyup! |
