DOWNTOWN. You'd never know it now, but the building that houses this super chic restaurant was once a women's prison. Sleek lines, contemporary banquettes and earthy colors are punctuated by shiny pebbled walls, cascading waterfalls and dramatic lighting. The sophistication extends to the menu, which includes grilled miso-marinated cod with tatsoi greens, and tempura shrimp in shiso leaves with a yuzu-ponzu dipping sauce. As you might expect, celebrity sightings are not uncommon, and most patrons dress to impress. And in keeping with big-city trends, the washroom is unisex. |

| | We had a wonderful experience at Rain. Having seen "Made to Order" on the Food Network, we were intent on trying the restaurant when we visited TO. Everything about our experience was top notch...we chose to have the taster's menu and we were not disappointed...the food was creatively presented and absolutely outstanding...the restaurant is comfortable, the atmosphere is serene & the staff is unpretentious and extremely attentive without being intrusive; we didn't even realize that almost 3 hours had passed from the start to the finish...it was truly fabulous!! | |

Ranked one of Toronto's top 10 by local magazine Toronto Life. Run by Michael and Guy Rubino of high end restaurant fame. … A trip to Toronto without a visit to Rain would be a shame. Celebrity sightings - everyone from Michael Douglas and Catherine Z-J, Minnie Driver, Robbie Robertson, to Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock. |
