Carlos & Murphy's
(Restaurants - American)
129 Osborne St, Winnipeg  R3L 1Y4 • 204-284-3510
Distance: ~2.075 km from The Fairmont Winnipeg
Description: Part Mexican cantina, part Irish pub, Carlos and Murphy's is reliably popular and always packed, especially on weekends. The patio was Winnipeg's first, and continues to be among its best – if the weather is nice, you'll definitely want to try for a table outside. Inside, the décor is colorful but a bit rustic, comfortable and festive. The dining room is full of families in the early evening hours, but the bar stays lively well into the night as folks sip ice cold beers and frosty margaritas. The food menu runs the gamut of Tex-Mex favorites, from burritos and enchiladas to nachos and some of the absolute tastiest wings in town.

My husband and I went to Carlos & Murphy's restaurant for our first year anniversary. We originally had reservations [someplace else], after sitting in the stuffy place looking at spider webs in the window for 5 minutes we left. We decided to go to your restaurant instead. We had such a good time, it was a Friday night and packed and not many tables were open. When we told the hostess it was our anniversary, she took extra care of us and found a nice spot on the patio for us. The meal was excellent and the staff wonderful and the atmosphere was far from the stuffy place we left. We had such a great time we forgot our anniversary cards on our table. Thanks for making our first anniversary one to remember, so much so it looks like we might have to spend number 2 there as well. One thing though we were interested in coming to your restaurant for Cinco De Mayo, and I thought I would check if you had a web site to see what was going on for tonight, but I don't see one. I think it would be great to see you guys have one.

My husband and I went for lunch and really enjoyed the food. The service was quick and friendly. Although, the decorations were nicely done, the place could use some sprucing up. Everything looked a bit in need of paint and refreshing - it was getting old and worn.
