Winnipeg Folk Festival
(Events - Best of the City)
Hwy-59 Birds Hill Provincial Park, Winnipeg  R2C • 204-222-9151
Description: With seven daytime stages (and two nighttime ones), you know this festival is about the music. In fact, it’s one of the oldest and largest folk festivals in the world, with an annual attendance of about 60,000 and more than 250 musicians like Nerissa and Katryna Nields, Los Lobos, Jill Barber, Randy Newman, The Flatlanders, Leo Kottke, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Michael Franti and Spearhead and The Indigo Girls. There’s plenty more, though, from arts and crafts vendors to local restaurant vendors to a bunch of fun kid’s activities. Birds Hill Provincial Park is located 34 km (20 mi) northeast of Winnipeg. The park charges CAN6 for a three-day parking pass, or CAN25 for an annual parking pass. Advance tickets available at Festival Music Store, 211 Bannatyne Ave, Winnipeg.
