Much anticipated, this annual celebration of the written and spoken word attracts more than 10,000 visitors. Readings, book signings, workshops, and panel discussions are among the top events. The roster of Canadian and international authors gets more impressive every year, and includes big names such as Jane Hamilton, Thomas McGuane, Louise Welsh, Madeleine Thien, Lemn Sissay, Kate Grenville, Wayne Johnston, Michael Collins, Damon Galgut and Kenneth Oppel. The majority of Banff events are at the Banff Centre, although a few are at the public library or other locations. Events in Calgary are at numerous different venues, including the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts, public libraries and small theaters. |
