Canmore Folk Music Festival

5th St Centennial Park, Canmore
Description: Alberta's oldest folk music festival started in 1978 and has been going strong ever since. In addition to a great lineup of performances, the family-oriented event is alcohol-free, with plenty of fun activities for little ones. Spanning several genres, the schedule in past years has included a wide variety of performers such as The Nields, Arlo Guthrie, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, The Waybacks, Trout Fishing in America, Nickel Creek, Janis Ian and The Wailin' Jennys. Advance tickets available locally in Banff at the Phone Store (207 Bear St), The Bear and the Butterfly (214 Banff Ave); and in Calgary at the Tin Box (837 8th St) and the Phone Store (1000 7th Ave). Cash only at the gate.
