Description:
|
ST-JOSEPH-DE-LA-RIVE. A designated Économusée, Papeterie St-Gilles offers a fascinating look into the past, for it is a working mill that produces parchment paper using processes dating from the 17th century. The mill, founded in 1964 by Monsignor Felix -Antoine-Savard, has a unique papermaking recipe that includes using pulp and flower petals. If you look closely at the paper, called "Grand Luxe," you'll notice that each sheet bears a distinctive watermark – the unmistakable image of Saint Gilles, thus making the stationery a truly special souvenir. |
