PORT-AU-PERSIL. One of Charlevoix's many hidden treasures, the riverside village of Port-au-Persil is little more than a collection of houses huddled on the banks of the Rivière Persil, an enchanting little stream that cascades over rocks on its way to meet the Saint Lawrence. Pay attention as you're driving through, and you'll find a small pull-off area where a trail leads down to the waterfall. Saint-Siméon's claim to fame is hospitality, which has earned it the inviting title of the "Hotel Village." The village is also home to Charlevoix's renowned Les Palissades Eco-Village, which can be accessed off Route 170. |
