Le Cochon Dingue
(Restaurants - Continental)
46, bd Champlain, Québec  G1K 4H7 • 418-692-2013
Distance: ~237 m away from Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
Description: VIEUX QUEBEC. This refreshing, French-style eatery is a favorite among neighborhood business-types and shop-owners, who appreciate the casual atmosphere, friendly service and one of the most attractive patio areas in Québec City. The restaurant's interior, which boasts the quintessential Québec stonework and several intimate café-style tables, is warm and inviting, though a tad dim. Savor the lunch delights, including sun-dried tomato pizzas, baguettes, steaks and fries and their famous mussels trio. Le Cochon Dingue also serves a pretty mean breakfast.

I would highly recommend this cafe. It was a very friendly place to relax and enjoy excellent cuisine. The blend of aromas were to die for and it was Hard to narrow down what to order. I will return this year with a hardy appetite!!

Good steak frites (especially with their special mustard sauce) -- but a bit too cramped. For some reason, the waiters' station is located immediately in front of the bathrooms, making it difficult to reach the facilities…

I must say I was completely disappointed by food and service on your restaurant on Friday evening 09 2006. I usually check on quality of restaurants by ordering entrees and soups. I ordered a lobster bisque and must say it was a good tomato soup without any lobster flavor whatsoever. A "parmesan fondue" was just some fries and extra cold sausage and cheese covered with cold melted cheese, it was just hideous, no way to taste that, less eat it. I asked for the check, the waitress could see that our meal was untouched and did not bother to ask why. She was most scornful, by the way. The whole thing looked like leftover from a week ago. I Paid 29.95 for the experience, rest assured I will let everybody know about this. This is the most awful dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. JMG
