Description: OAK BAY. For afternoon tea, Blethering Place is a local standby, but the tea room serves every meal of the day, starting with an excellent breakfast. Was not very impressive; food was minimal and not true English! Probably would not return.

This is a lovely little tearoom in the heart of Oak Bay with great ambience and service. The food is wonderful if you stick to the traditional English fare. We actually had Thanksgiving dinner here (which was fantastic) as well as afternoon tea on many occassions. A quick note...order the "tea biscuits" instead of the scones. They are tender and delicious and taste great with the homemade preserves and devonshire cream (the scones tend to be very large and dryer). The soups are very good here as well and the fish & chips are some of the best in Victoria.
