In 1943, The Constellation was en route to Venezuela. Now, thanks to a twist of fate, it lies in 30 feet of water 8 miles west of Royal Naval Dockyard, off Bermuda's northwest coast. The four-masted schooner is 200 feet long and provides plenty of room for divers to spread out and explore. Peter Benchley (the author of "Jaws") wrote about this ship's foundering in his story "The Deep." |
