SONOMA. Reminiscent of the Italian wine country, this lovely complex overlooks the verdant Carneros grape-growing region and is a literal celebration of its founders' proud Italian heritage. The building's tiled roof and ivy-draped stucco walls exude a Tuscan feel, and the Mediterranean-inspired landscaping features olive trees, stone pines, and Italian cypresses. The estate also overlooks 90 acres of wetlands that serve as a waterfowl preserve. Not just "all show" however, Viansa produces a line-up that includes Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Aleatico, Primitivo, and Cabernet Franc. Depending on the season, visitors may tour facilities, enjoy tastings, and explore the wetlands. |

| | A visit to Italy - while still in California.....
This is truly my favorite wine-country experience with a georgous villa, wonderful foods, nice service and terrific wines! This is the place to which I return each time I make it to Sonoma or Napa. |
