A group of friends and I (a mostly Indian crowd) made reservations for "Heritage India" in Dupont Circle at 8:30 p.m. for my birthday celebration, and for Earthquake Relief in Pakistan. The restaurant would not donate a portion of the bill to Earthquake relief unless asked before seating, at which point courtesy disappeared. After we stated our intent to donate a portion of the bill to Earthquake Relief, they said that although we did have reservations for 8:30 p.m., they don't honor them after 8:00 p.m. We had waited for almost two hours at the bar, and the bartenders did not even know how to make correctly the most basic drinks -- they even gave olives for a martini ON A NAPKIN! We did not even get to taste the food . . . The host, bartenders, waiters, and even the owner were all insufferably rude. After not honoring our reservation, they told us we could all sit at different tables, or we could leave. We went to Penang instead.
