Description:

CORAL GABLES. This tiny, family-owned favorite features some of the best Vietnamese cuisine in the area. The decor is simple and minimal, providing a clean, serene setting for your meal. Delicious meat, seafood and vegetarian offerings are available, and each dish can be customized to your ideal level of spiciness. Sample great salads, such as green papaya or spicy calamari, and filling noodle dishes topped with savory sauces. Caramelized prawns and grilled salmon with mango are two seafood favorites. A nice wine list and a short but stellar dessert menu make this an all-around winner. Business casual attire. |

| | I know some people may think I graded this very poorly but I know real Vietnamese food and this just doesn't cut it for me. I'm originally from Vietnam and raised in Indiana but now resided in Detroit. I thought Detroit had horrible Vietnamese food, I was so wrong! It is my experience that Vietnamese restaurants that focus so much on the decor and ambiance usually lacks in taste and quality. I was in the Miami area for a vacation and craved Vietnamese cooking. I was hoping to find some Bun Bo Hue (beef with white spaghetti like noodles in a broth) but this restaurant had none. To my disappointment, I ordered the usual Pho. It was not that great. Even the dinky little hole in the wall restaurant in Detroit is better than this place. The servers were not Vietnamese speaking people so forget about trying out your Vietnamese. I think since it was located in Coral Gable, the taste and food was comprised for the tourists and non-Vietnamese crowd. The only part my fiancé and I enjoyed was the decor. Ooh! and good luck finding a parking!! Even at 10:25pm, we had a hard time looking for a parking space. |
