This eco-friendly festival is called the “world’s largest party with a purpose.” Sustainability is its theme, and well-known speakers discourse on the subject. Individuals and companies bring green projects and ideas to publicize, and they teach the public in the process. Live music, informative workshops, and plenty of organic food and drink are also part of the mix. True to its message, the Green Festival strives to erase its carbon footprint through the use of offsets (a goal it achieved in 2005) and to reach a 100% resource recovery rate (2006 saw an impressive 96% rate). Come, be inspired and educated, and join the growing environmentally-conscious movement. |
