If you're determined to find an authentic, truly off-the-beaten path excursion, take a taxi out to the Veladero National Park which encompasses 7805 acres in the mountain range that surrounds Acapulco Bay. Once there, you can hike up through the dense, tropical vegetation to view a variety of petroglyphs thought to be the work of Acapulco's first peoples.
