Gimmicks are hardly necessary to pull folks into this laid-back dive, where regulars eschew showy entrances in favor of meeting up with friends, shooting pool, and sharing a few pitchers of brew. Elm Street Bar was definitely not founded on kitsch – its soul is pure rock and roll, a fact which the much-revered jukebox attests to. Bands are usually booked each weekend, and drinks are always reasonably priced.
