Description:
Koutouki Taverna is small and narrow, with a tangle of live plants hanging from what appears to be every inch of ceiling space, and a homey vibe with posters of the old country and printed tablecloths. Lively and loyal regular clientele pack the place most nights, and there's even a belly dancer on occasion, so the atmosphere is usually amiable and sometimes boisterous. But who can blame them? Food this good is bound to put everyone in a good mood! Souvlaki is a winner here – skewers of tender lamb, chicken or beef to enfold in a soft pita with plenty of tzatziki sauce. You can also easily make a meal from mezes – hummus, dolmades, saganaki, calamari, olives, keftides and the like. Wash it all down with a cold Mythos, and life is very good indeed.
