Description:
Along the banks of the North Saskatchewan is a stretch of greenspace which comprises the River Valley Park system. This accumulated land (thousands of acres in area) comprises the largest city park in North America and is the source of pride and recreation for the city's residents. You'll see them frolicking in swimming pools, playing on tennis courts, picnicking on the grass, and pursuing all sorts of athletic endeavors. The parks (which include Hermitage, Hawrelak and Terwillegar, among others) provide a welcome break from the city's asphalt and concrete and are terrific sites for public festivals as well.
