Description:
Despite its French-sounding moniker, Mise specializes in Canadian regional cuisine. Chef Terry Gereta, formerly of the highly regarded Fusion Grill, capitalizes on fresh local ingredients, using them in globally inspired dishes like duck confit, cornmeal-crusted pickerel and elk-stuffed quail. Other good things to try: baby back ribs (pork) with a super spicy harissa-infused dipping sauce, and wild boar tenderloin with sour cherry demi-glace. Wild rice makes numerous appearances in various guises (in latkes, popped and covering a chocolate truffle, in hash, and puffed as a side dish), as well. Enjoy it all in a cozy subterranean dining room with exposed brick walls and linen napkins.
