Vieille Chapelle des Indiens
(Attractions & Activities - Museums)
108, rue Bord-de-l'Eau, Tadoussac  G0T 2A0 • 418-235-4324
Distance: ~67.769 km from Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu
Description: One would be hard-pressed to pick out a more ideal location for a chapel than this one – overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Dating from 1747, Tadoussac's Indian Chapel stands as one of the oldest wooden chapels in Canada. It was built by Father Claude-Godefroy Cocquart, a Jesuit missionary, and served as the area's Indian mission. Today, services are no longer held here; however, the chapel houses a collection of unique religious and regional artifacts.
