Description:
In the past, this park was the site of military drills, exercises and parades. However, in the early 1900s, the Place d'Armes was re-opened as a public park. The Monument of Faith, a sculpture commemorating the arrival of Recollet Mona from France in 1615, now graces the park. In addition to the Monument of Faith , the park displays a diamond-shaped monument that hails Québec's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Québec is the only city in North America to hold such grand distinction.
