Description:
SOUTH SIDE. Dick Nugent's masterful vision and design transformed an old landfill into this championship, links-style course. Absent of mature trees and other native foliage, the "man-made" terrain features elevation changes, wispy rough, mounds, and deep bunkers. Poorly played approach shots can result in long putts on the large greens. |

Description:
WHEATON. With two distinctly different nines, this course's beauty and its surroundings are out of this world. Exquisite landscaping sets the scene for a course that features a significant amount of water. Wide fairways on one nine and narrow, tree-lined fairways on the other make adapting to different layouts a must. The course has a unique history and even features a bunker in the shape of Dick Tracy. |

Description:
HOFFMAN ESTATES. This popular golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is located just a few miles northwest of downtown Chicago. In past years, Hilldale has hosted qualifying rounds for the Western Open, a testament to the course's 130-point slope. Expect the narrow, tree-lined fairways and fast greens to offer up sufficient challenges to even the most seasoned golfers. Have care! Of the course's 18 holes, 13 taunt golfers with water hazards. |

Description:
WEST CHICAGO. Golfers are presented with a number of options on this challenging course. They can gamble and flirt with disaster or play it safe and rely on good iron play and putting in order to score. Of course, large, sloping greens make finishing each hole a challenge in itself. Only a handful of trees come into play on the open course, but you have to watch out when the wind blows. |

Description:
MUNDELEIN. With fast greens and a number of perfectly placed bunkers, this course puts up a fight. Open fairways are relatively generous but can leave some uneven lies for approach shots. Subtle breaks in the greens make reading putts a difficult task. Plus, the finishing hole is a classic, with a dogleg fairway leaving an approach shot over trouble to a tiny green. Avoid the greenside trouble, and the round will be more enjoyable (and, of course, your score will be lower). |

Description:
AURORA. With medium-length holes, length is not typically a problem on this demanding course, which ranks as one of Chicagoland's best. However, thick rough lines the fairways, and a number of water hazards guard the greens. If approach shots miss undulating greens and stay dry, there's a good chance that they will find one of the yawning bunkers. Accurate approach shots typically lead to a good round. |

Description:
CHANNAHON. This lengthy course can play longer because of its rolling hills. Mounded fairways and up-hill approaches make for some blind shots during the round. Fairways are guarded by a combination of trees, mounds, and marsh, so the straighter the shot the better. The terrain also comes into play on well-mounded greens. |
