Description:
AIRPORT - YYC. Perennially popular and always crowded, this English pub is the city's great equalizer, attracting (and welcoming) patrons of all ages and backgrounds. They come for the laid-back ambience, live bands which play on Wednesdays (often with no cover), and the open jam sessions that take place on Saturday afternoons. Of course, no pub worth its salt can get by without beer, and S & A offers local and international brews on tap, including Guinness, Becks and Stella Artois. To complement the beer, you'll find a full menu of pub fare, including hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, fish-and-chips, along with pastas and pizzas. They don't stand on formalities, and neither should you. Just wear what you have, and come on. |

Description:
The name of this place (pronounced "kay-lee") refers to a gathering of people who've come together to play music and dance. You may not find an enormous amount of that going on, but you will find plenty of drinking taking place. While you sit among groups of congenial patrons, you can order up a Guinness, a Caffrey's, or an Irish whiskey and keep with the Celtic theme. If you want food, they serve favorites like shepherd's pie, Irish stew, or fish and chips. If you're planning on going, do keep in mind that the place becomes quite busy during lunch and especially on the weekends. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YYC. The name pays tribute to this pub's former incarnation as one of the town's fire houses. In fact, this spot is billed as the city's only "Fire Hall Pub." The Inglewood establishment has gained quite a faithful following since its opening, and you'll often see crowds of people hanging out all through the week. Depending on your mood, there's pool to play, darts to throw and beer to drink. If the weather's good, you're welcome to sit outside and nurse your brew. If you want something to accompany it, they serve a menu of pub food like ribs, chili and burgers. Great ambiance and a lot of fun. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YYC. In a building more contemporary than traditional pubs, this two-story venue, sheathed in wood and stone, is still a worthy contender on the city's best-pubs list. It features a large bar area, along with more private spaces and balconied areas both upstairs and down. Beer is the beverage of choice, as befits an Irish bar, and Guinness holds court as one of the most popular, although other options do exist. Pub food includes most of the usual suspects, including Irish stew and even haggis (just eat it – don't ask what's in it). If you want to while away the day, you're free to hang out and watch TV or chat up some of the other patrons at the bar. |
