Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. Divided by a large, central bar, this venue has two distinct sections. On one side, pale woods and stained glass panels set the scene for dining and drinking. Tables and banquettes are available for your comfort, and you'll often see patrons relaxing and chatting with each other. On the other side, among a decor of dark woods, are located pool tables, darts, and video games. This section is somewhat livelier, given the activities, and locals find it a great place to spend the evening. TVs are tuned to interesting events of the moment, and on weekends, a DJ spins favorite tunes. Private groups are also accommodated; they alone enjoy use of the karaoke machine. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. The Elk and Oarsman's crowning glory is a rooftop terrace, the highest in town, with 360° views of the surrounding mountains. It's a fabulous spot for a meal of tasty and substantial pub fare, washed down with a cold local microbrew. A classic mountain pub atmosphere inside (lots of wood, a stone fireplace, old winter sports equipment and vintage photos on the walls) is augmented by big windows that nicely frame the mountain scenery. For sports fans there are several LCD televisions, tuned to whatever the big game of the moment happens to be. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. A neighborhood favorite, Tommy's is a local hangout all day long. Inside, you'll find lots of bare wood and a decor of photographs, vintage model cars and license plates. The bar is the focus, and that's not unintentional. Having a beer here is a time-tested tradition, and cheap drink specials run Sunday to Wednesday, rotating vodka, rum and rye. Food is basic pub fare, heavy on sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads. Ribs, fried fish, quesadillas, panini and shepherd's pie round out the offerings, and daily specials can be found on the blackboard. If you're up for some activity, dart boards are available. If not, a few outside tables let you keep an eye on passers-by. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. Sheathed in rough-hewn wood inside and out, this place is dim and kitschy, as evidenced by the neon beer signs, gaudy sombreros, and mounted animal heads. Still, it's a local favorite and offers any Mexican dish imaginable, from burritos to quesadillas and fajitas. During the day, it has a high turnover, so it's not hard to get a table. In the evenings, patrons come to hang out at the bar, drink and socialize, so things don't move quite as fast. On occasion, live music fills the space, and it's usually rockabilly or blues. Day and night, the Stump is lively and fun. Plus, they serve food until they close, so if you get the munchies late at night, this is the place to go. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. Somewhat hidden in the Sundance Mall, this compact, low-ceilinged pub is a favorite local hangout. During the afternoon and after work, townspeople head over for a beer or to shoot a few rounds of pool. They also partake of hearty British comfort food, which satisfies hungry workday appetites. Daily drink specials bring similar pleasure to the pocketbook and to the soul. Visitors are welcome to stop by; just don't be put off by the short-lived sizing-up you'll get at first. Order a brew and relax the mountain way. You'll fit in without too much trouble. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. Upscale and fashionable, this lounge occupies the first floor of Saltlik. A large, curved bar dominates the space, although there's room for bar tables too, along with an expanse of upholstered seating perfect for late-night lounging. A glass-enclosed wine cellar is in full view to tempt guests, but a variety of libations is available if you'd like something a little more stout. Young professionals find the place incredibly attractive and congregate here throughout the evening. It's a great stopover before or after a meal upstairs, but it's also good on its own. Resting on the bar is a blue salt block intended for cattle to lick. Rumor has it that patrons do tequila shots from its curves, but you might think twice. |

So have a bite to eat, raise a glass, and do your part to make the world a smaller place. |

Description:
AIRPORT - YBA. No matter what time of day you come to Melissa's, you'll be warmly greeted and made to feel at home. The restaurant, housed in a circa-1928 building, resembles a chalet on the outside and a log cabin on the inside. It's also a local institution and a great place to meet friends. The Canadian cuisine makes the most of local ingredients, and you'll find a selection of Alberta steaks, local fish and handmade burgers. In the evenings, locals gather at the upstairs bar and watch TV or play pool and darts while they drink. Happy hour kicks in each day from 4pm to 7pm, and when the weather's mild, the revelry spills out onto the outside patio. |
