Description:
This enormous timber lodge, which opened at the end of 1997, anchors the base of the Lake Louise Ski Area. The impressive structure plays host to a ski rental shop, a retail facility, and several restaurants. Food of all sorts is served, including sandwiches, salads and hot main dishes. Lunch and breakfast buffets also satisfy hungry appetites but are usually seasonal. If you choose to ride the gondola up the mountain, special tickets give discounts on Ride n' Dine combinations. If you'd rather spend time in the lodge, you're free to eat in the restaurants or bring food out to the wraparound deck. It provides great views of the surrounding mountains. |

Description:
This unpretentious deli and bakery is adorned with black-and-white historical photos and hanging ferns. The place is simple, and patrons order from the counter before staking out one of the tables or heading for the door with take-out. The aromas of warm bread and fresh coffee fill the air. Jeans and polar fleece are the dress of choice, and outdoor types abound. A variety of coffee and tea drinks is available, as are chai, hot chocolate and juices. To accompany them, the shop offers croissants, cookies, pastries, muffins, danishes, doughnuts, cinnamon buns and apple pies. Sandwiches and other heartier foods are available too, as are homemade breads. |
