Description:
MONTCALM. Dating back to the mid-17th century, this attractive park, ideal for a late afternoon stroll or even a relaxing lunch break, has served in several different capacities throughout its history. In fact, after the British took over Québec, Lord Elgin had a home built on the site. It was destroyed by fire in the late 1940s, but visitors can still see some of the outbuildings, and the gardens surrounding the former residences continue to be carefully tended, offering an impressive collection of plant species for the amateur horticulturalist to admire. |
