Description:
VIEUX QUEBEC. One of Québec City's most famous landmarks, this historic building and hotel has hosted many notables, including Grace Kelly, Alfred Hitchcock, Prince Rainier, Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. In fact, several summit meetings between Churchill and Roosevelt were held here, resulting in strategies that helped the Allies win World War II. The 1908 castle-like structure can best be viewed from atop the Citadelle or the Levis Terrace. Worthwhile guided tours are available, led by guides dressed in period attire. |

Description:
VIEUX QUEBEC. In the past, this park was the site of military drills, exercises and parades. However, in the early 1900s, the Place d'Armes was re-opened as a public park. The Monument of Faith, a sculpture commemorating the arrival of Recollet Mona from France in 1615, now graces the park. In addition to the Monument of Faith , the park displays a diamond-shaped monument that hails Québec's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Québec is the only city in North America to hold such grand distinction. |

Description:
VIEUX QUEBEC. Located in Old Québec, this historic church is the oldest Christian parish north of Mexico. Over the course of the Basilica's 300-plus years, it has weathered fierce storms, stood firm during bombardments, and was even reduced to rubble after British bombing in 1759 – making it one of Québec's more durable historic sites. Reconstruction efforts have returned it to its previous glorious state, and visitors are welcome to enter the church and view the paintings and ecclesiastical treasures housed therein. |

Description:
VIEUX QUEBEC. This unique park's claim to fame is the collection of stone ruins dating from 1685. In 1972, archaeological excavations uncovered these old homes, which had been leveled during the British Conquest, rebuilt, and then damaged again in both 1948 and 1957 by fire. If you look closely, you can still make out some of the remnants of the old houses. The park is also the site of La Fresque des Québécois, the Mural of Quebecers. |
