Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. Forget the usual rough cut beams and antler chandeliers. The Four Seasons' Fifty Two 80 has a fresh approach to "mountain lodge décor" that manages to be simultaneously stylish, cosmopolitan AND rustic. There's stone, leather and wood in abundance, but the accents of vibrant mosaic tiles and a warm color palette brings the natural building materials right into this century. The menu brings Canadian cuisine up-to-date as well, in preparations such as pan-seared salmon with summer peas, chanterelles, bacon and fresh sorrel, or spit-roasted veal chop with mascarpone polenta and grilled asparagus. Fifty Two 80 also has a great bar, the crowning glory of which is a year-round terrace complete with firepit. |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. A favorite in almost every city, this easy-going restaurant is perfect for spur-of-the-moment dining or when you want good, reliable fare. The place lacks any sort of pretense and comfortably accommodates diners young and old. The restaurant's real draws are its well-seasoned steaks, including juicy prime rib, grilled sirloin and pepper bacon-wrapped filet mignon. The selection of seafood, pasta, chicken and ribs gets high marks too. For dessert, you'll have a hard time choosing between the warm, homey apple crumble and the flashier mile-high chocolate cake. But, no matter what you try, you'll be welcomed and guaranteed to have a good meal. Reservations are not accepted. |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. 21 Steps has a formula that works extremely well. Here's how they do it: take a groovy second floor space with big windows looking out over Whistler Village and furnish it with style and comfort. Add in an eclectic menu with lots of small plates (edamame, chicken wings, smoked salmon, fried goat cheese, oysters), plus a few big ones (roasted chicken, lamb chops, stuffed Portobello, steak, pesto crusted halibut) to satisfy the après crowd. Augment that with a few items for kids (they have to eat too!). And just for kicks, include a trendy bar with leather couches and excellent martinis. The end result is pretty much guaranteed to succeed! |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. Readers of Vancouver magazine voted Araxi "best restaurant in Whistler," and locals agree with that assessment. This is one of the hottest spots in town, popular with a young, well-heeled crowd. Mediterranean in flavor, the menu focuses on fresh regional seafood, game and produce. Locally caught trout is smoked right in Araxi's kitchen and BC ostrich is another favorite with regular diners. The in-house bakery makes all of the bread fresh each day. Take advantage of the sommelier – she can help you choose an appropriate wine from their cellar of 12,000 bottles. For dessert, don't miss the gingerbread torte with maple cream, or sample the homemade biscotti while you sip your coffee. |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. GLC is one of those places with a split personality. By day, it's a busy and popular stop for hungry skiers who are in a rush to get back on the mountain. (It is, after all, situated right atop the Whistler gondola station.) Favored foods include poutine, the interestingly-named "sex cheese," nachos, burgers and the like. Once night settles, however, the place takes on an all together different ambience, becoming a happening nightspot. After about 11pm, some of the best DJs from the Pacific Northwest spin reggae and ambient house music, and the sound system is impressive to say the least. It's the place to get your party on! |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. The first thing you'll notice about La Bocca's décor is the walls, the most unique and creatively painted walls in town. Accented with vibrant red and yellow booths, the overall effect is absolutely charming and funky. The menu is similarly eclectic, drawing inspiration from the fresh produce of the region and international cooking styles. You'll have plenty of choice, regardless of what you're craving! Among the starters is a fine salad of grilled salmon on mixed greens, Thai style calamari with lemongrass and garlic, and Savoyard fondue (along with chicken wings and nachos). Main courses follow the global lead: Szechwan beef, seafood linguine, pfeffer schnitzel, or pan-seared duck breast with caramelized garlic and blueberry-port reduction. |

Description:
WHISTLER VILLAGE. Wild Wood is certifiably a local favorite, regularly being voted tops for awesome breakfasts and value-priced dinners. First of all, there's the breakfast menu. Served from 7am-3pm every day, it covers ALL the bases: ten different Benedicts, banana bread French toast, and a rocking plate of Eggs Rockefeller (poached eggs over "spiked" spinach and emmethal cheese with hollandaise and pan fries). Wide ranging lunch and dinner menus are equally divers and vast. Try the Halifax-Style Donairs, an herb-crusted salmon sandwich, asparagus-portabello rotini in pesto cream sauce, crab and mushroom bisque, walnut-crusted pork loin, or pistachio-crusted Alaskan halibut. End your meal on a sweet note with a slice of apple blackberry tart a la mode or gingerbread-pear torte with caramel poached pears. |
