Cafe Indigo
(Restaurants - Lunch)
Indigo Courtyard, Holetown  • 246-432-0968
Description: ST. JAMES PARISH. This second-floor eatery has taken its name to heart – everything is blue, from the tablecloths to the bathroom tiles. It might have appeared overdone, but in fact it's surprisingly appealing. The laid-back atmosphere is great for a casual lunch of soup and salad, pâté or the fresh catch of the day. Prices are budget friendly, too.

Chefette
(Restaurants - Lunch)
Broad St, Bridgetown  • 246-430-3420 • 246-430-3421
Description: ST. MICHAEL PARISH. Chefette is a small fast food chain, and there are 14 locations all over the island. It's not particularly fast, but the prices are reasonable and the food is quite good. Tasty chicken and chips is the staple offering, but the "broasted" chicken sandwich and the various rotis are also satisfying. Several locations have drive-throughs and playgrounds for the kids, and some also serve pizza, barbecue or ice cream.

Daphne's
(Restaurants - Lunch)
Paynes Bay  • 246-432-2731
Description: ST. JAMES PARISH. The original Daphne's, in London's trendy Chelsea, has a sibling in Barbados! The island's restaurant is every bit as trendy, although the décor is sleeker and more contemporary. The food, of course, is fabulous. The menu is brimming with modern Italian dishes like shrimp and zucchini flower risotto, pappardelle with rabbit ragout and black olives, and mahi mahi with peperonata and fried zucchini. Selecting just one or two may prove difficult! Desserts are not to be missed – coffee and mascarpone charlotte, iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce, and millefeuilles with strawberries and chantilly cream are just a few of the options. Good selection of cocktails and Italian wines, too.

Fish Pot
(Restaurants - Lunch)
Little Good Harbour Hotel, Shermans  • 246-439-3000
Description: ST. PETER PARISH. The charming Little Good Harbour Hotel is a family-owned complex of colorful cottages; their on-site restaurant is a great place to dine, especially at lunchtime when you can sit outside on the patio and gaze at the stunningly blue water that's just a few yards away. The creative midday menu is similar to the dinner menu with a few additional pastas and paninis. You could begin your meal with curry glazed lobster with coconut-chickpea puree, tomato jam and a drizzle of cilantro oil; or seared scallops on truffle-green pea puree with toasted pine nut dressing; but be sure to save room for herb-crusted filet of barracuda or shrimp in Thai broth with basmati rice.
