Description:
More than a dozen beers on tap, tasty and filling pub grub and a convivial atmosphere make the Old Dublin one of Montréal's most popular hangouts. It's been around since 1978, so it obviously does something right! There's live music every night of the week, and the warm, woody atmosphere makes it easy to lose a few hours here. Along with good beer, the pub stocks a great selection of single malt scotches. |

Get out your platform shoes and polyester threads, this is more than just a blast from the past. FunkyTown offers those nostalgic for the sexy seventies a feast for the eyes and the ears. With walls draped in velvet, a dance platform that glows in checkerboard brights and the can't-do-without sparkling mirrorball overhead, dancers can groove to the musical stylings of the era, or on Thursdays the weekly homage to the sounds of French pop from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Don't miss Martin Stevens reprising his hit Love is in the Air every Friday and Saturday. |

| |
Description:
OK, historic specifics out of the way first: 1234 is housed in a wonderful 17th-century greystone building that is reportedly haunted. The gargoyles and stained glass are intact, although various improvements have been made over the years. Today, the space is a dance club, owned by a group of savvy young industry types that includes celebrated DJ MC Mario. The interior has been completely revamped and is stunning, the music is a good mix of exquisitely danceable stuff, and the line-ups out front became legendary almost as soon as the place opened. |

|
|
Distance:
~0.617 km * |

| |
Description:
Although it likes to call itself a dive bar, Madhatter is really quite a bit nicer than the average beer-swilling den! For one thing they have a great rooftop terrace (absent from the vast majority of true dives). They also have an actual theme – Alice in Wonderland – which is trippy and fun. Then there's the beer selection and the prices: about 20 beers on tap, at starving-artist-friendly prices. Burgers, sandwiches and the like are available, and DJs spin crowd-pleasing tunes once the night gets going. |

Description:
This complex has been a mainstay on Crescent Street since 1967, and helped usher in the nightlife for which the area has become famous. In addition to two outdoor terraces overlooking Crescent, there are three floors, each with its own distinct personality: the cozy Sir Winston Churchill Pub, the more upscale Winnies Bar and Restaurant, and a stylish dance club/lounge called Karina. In the pub, enjoy a game of pool or darts and a pint of your favorite beer, a pitcher of sangria or a cocktail. If it's food you're after, try Winnies Bar and Restaurant, where you'll find a great selection of traditional and international fare (the same menu is offered in the pub). Finally, there's Karina, a sleek space where world class DJs keep the grooves coming into the wee hours. |

|
|
Distance:
~0.702 km * |

Description:
There's a saying that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. It's not a stretch to add "and in an Irish pub" to that statement. At the Irish Embassy, the mood is always cheerful and the Guinness is always poured just right. Live music is scheduled Thursday-Sunday. Food is a bit more upscale than you'll find at most pubs and with a little more of a global approach, but it's satisfying and tasty in a way only pub food can be. Fun and lively, especially on weekends. |
