Description:
If you haven't managed to see your fill of wildlife during your trip, this museum brings the animals up close and personal. Occupying one of the hotel's lower floors, the Den showcases a variety of birds and mammals indigenous to the area. They've all been mounted by professional taxidermists and reside in dioramas that resemble their native habitats. Among the species you'll find are grizzly and black bears, elk, beavers, coyotes, cougars, and mountain goats. Ideal for someone intent on not leaving town without glimpsing a caribou. |

Description:
Midway between Lake Louise and Jasper lies this complex, an oasis of activity amid the stark mountain landscape. Home to a hotel, restaurant, gift shop and visitors center, the Centre opened in 1996 and has become a popular tourist attraction. It's also the point of departure for a number of companies that offer excursions onto the nearby Columbia Icefield. The facility houses the Glacier Gallery, an exhibit that explains, via models and videos, how glaciers form, advance and retreat. A history of the area and its significance to Canada's rivers and landscape is also mentioned. |

One of the area's most popular attractions, this interesting museum traces the growth and development of Jasper National Park. The gallery details the Rocky Mountain fur trade, the presence of the railroad, the role of skiing, and famous residents and travelers who've added to the park's history. Artifacts from various time periods make the experience that much more immediate for visitors. The museum also sponsors art exhibits and has an extensive archive of historical documents and photos. |
