Boats of every size and shape, appropriately decorated for the holiday season, parade through Hamilton Harbour during this festive December event. If you can't be on a boat in the parade, your best bet is to try to snag a spot along Harbour Road or the waterfront in Hamilton. Parade ends with a colorful fireworks show. |

Description:
More than 70 films are screened during this nine-day festival of cinematic arts. Films hail from all over the world (34 different countries in 2006), with competitions for features, documentaries and shorts. Seminars and workshops round out the offerings. The BIFF also schedules a Children's Film Festival in October. |

Description:
Special sporting events and cultural activities are scheduled throughout this month. On May 24 (or a nearby weekday), the island celebrates "Bermuda Day" and features dinghy races in St. George's Harbour, a half-marathon, a cycling race and a parade in Bernard Park. The festivities conclude with a full-dress parade of the Bermuda Regiment down Front Street. |

Description:
If you need a reason to spend time outdoors (as if the beach weren't reason enough!), here's a good one. Every Wednesday evening during the summer months, Hamilton's Front Street is closed to vehicle traffic and becomes a veritable feast for the senses. Music and dancing, wonderful local arts and crafts, face painting, mountains of food and a wonderful feeling of camaraderie permeate the city. Stroll around, sample fish chowder, onion bread or mussel pie, do a little shopping, and revel in the tropical atmosphere that is unique to Bermuda. |

Description:
This two-month festival is held annually in January and February. Plays, classical music concerts and jazz jams are held at City Hall Theatre, Fairmont Southampton, and various other locations around the island. Many internationally renowned actors and musicians participate. The "Festival Fringe," held during the same months, features performers who are locals or less well-known. At the smaller venue, you'll find avant-garde plays, performance art and concerts. |

Back in 2007, for the first time in the PGA Grand Slam's history, this key tournament was held in Bermuda, and all signs appear to indicate that it has certainly found a fine "home." Competition is fierce -- just to qualify! If you're thinking of catching this one, you better act fast -- tickets for the final round sell out well in advance, although there may still be some three-day tickets available. |
