Fairmont Hotels Description:
The Waldhaus is the Banff Springs' "House in the Forest". The Bavarian style cottage was built in 1927 to be used as the Banff Springs' Clubhouse and is set on the edge of the golf course and the Spray river.
The authentic German dishes on the menu include cheese and beef fondue, schnitzels, sauerbraten, chocolate fondue and apple strudel. |
Description:
Set in what used to be the hotel golf course's clubhouse, this restaurant lies a few steps from the Banff Springs' main building. Its menu is dedicated to authentic German cuisine, so you'll find venison, trout, roast duck, short ribs and wiener schnitzel to choose from. Fondues depart from the theme just a bit but are popular for their novelty and their great taste. A few meatless dishes also satisfy the vegetarians in the group. A patio is available during the summer; beer, year round. |
Additional Details:
The Waldhaus is the perfect location for a romantic evening or dinner with a group of friends. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old hunting cottage with a large fireplace and a temperature controlled wine cabinet which holds an extensive selection of wine. |
