Description:
Opening Spring of 2004
Tom Wilson Restaurant - in the new Mt. Temple wing
There's a distinct flavour to the Chateau's newest restaurant experience. Beneath cloud-brushing windows the architecture is rich and warm. The service, rare. Everything from tried-and-true favourites to tantalizing new creations fill the menu and the sweeping buffet. Behind the open grill, as sauces swirl and seasonings blend, our chefs will demonstrate that eye-catching presentation doesn't stop with the decor. And serve it all up in a atmosphere that fuses a heritage of elegance with contemporary comfort and natural simplicity. It seems that despite a generous wine list, it's the nearby lake views that will prove to be most intoxicating. Because spectacular diversity is as much a part of our dining as it is a part of our landscape.

Description:
One architectural element exemplifies why the Chateau's Lakeview Lounge is so special. Seen through the room's signature Palladian window, the awe-inspiring Victoria Glacier, surrounding Rocky Mountain peaks, birds circling the forested slopes and dramatic sunsets. A Canadian treasure of fine beverages, glorious views and classic style, this perfectly situated nook is far more than just a place for drinks.
Certainly, the knowledgeable staff is quick to serve the libation of your choice, whether your pleasure is a Bloody Mary, a modern take on the Martini or a cherry-flavored Belgian beer - one of a dozen tastefully varied imports available. But they are just as pleased to brew a perfectly frothy cappuccino or decadent specialty coffee. Or present a palate-pleasing glass of smooth red or crisp and fruity white wine. A menu of innovative small bites and indulgent sweet endings round out the Lakeview Lounge's extensive offering and provide the perfect nibble.

First thing in the morning or for a refresher later in the day, ask for one of the specialty coffees like cappuccino and cafe au lait, hot and creamy. Grab a mug to go, along with one of the fresh muffins or cinnamon buns made daily by Executive Pastry Chef Peter Boos. Or linger for a moment or two on one of the barstools and drink in the historic photos of pioneers who went before you.
If you're headed out for a day of hiking, skiing, climbing or sightseeing, choose from one of the fresh-made sandwiches or create your own from fine European and Canadian meats and cheeses displayed behind the counter. The Deli also serves up a wide variety of salads and hot dishes, like meat pies and lasagna packaged to go or all ready for a quick meal at our tables. For dessert anytime, let your mouth water over the luscious cheesecake, Belgian chocolates, brownies, tarts, strudel, and house special banana bread.
Call ahead and we'll have your backpacker lunch, stuffed with plenty of gourmet goodies, ready for pick-up. Fast, fresh and made for every taste, drop by the Chateau Deli anytime of the day or night.
