Description:
From a century of golf excellence, a new legend is born.
Redesigned in 2000 by internationally recognized designer Thomas McBroom, The Algonquin Golf Course features a dynamic sequence of forested woodland front nine along with a new seaside back nine, designed and registered with the Audubon Society. This 18 hole, 6,908 yard, par 71 course offers multiple tees that will challenge golfers of all levels. The bent grass tees, fairways and greens give a manicured look that is the perfect contrast to the fescue rough, and the ruggged shoreline of the Bay of Fundy.

Description:
Ministers Island is a 500 acre island located near St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada. During the summer season, it is accessible by vehicle, bike, or foot across the ocean floor at low tide and by shuttle boat at high tide. The island was named after Anglican Minister, Rev. Samuel Andrews, who settled there in the 1790's and whose house still stands. Sir William Cornelius Van Horne who is credited with the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway, began building his summer retreat on Ministers Island in the 1890's. Tours of the property include Covenhoven, the large 50 room sandstone mansion where Sir William and his family lived during the summer; the circular bathhouse and tidal saltwater swimming pool, and one of the most unique barns in Canada where Sir William had a large stock farm. Tours are self-guided and guided tours are available for bus groups and by special arrangement. Over 8 km of walking trails traverse the island and feature varied habitats as well panoramic views of Passamaquoddy Bay and the surrounding countryside. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras, sketch pads, and a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the many tables scattered throughout the island. The island is a game reserve and pets are not allowed. The island is available for weddings, reunions, and events. Ministers Island is both a National and a Provincial Historic Site and is managed by the Van Horne Estate on Ministers Island Inc. (VHEMI), a non-profit charity.
