Description:
In operation since the 19th century, the Rideau Canal runs through the city from the Ottawa River, directly beside the hotel, southward towards Kingston through 24 locks and canals. During the winter months, the Rideau Canal serves as the world’s longest skating rink. Warmer weather sees the canal filled with boats and lined with bikers. Boat tours along the Rideau Canal are available.

Description:
Enjoy summer and winter sports or just picnic at one of the lookouts in Gatineau park's 88,000 acres of forest, 40 lakes and 125 miles (200 km) of trails.
