More About The City

About Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The stunning "Island City" that is Abu Dhabi is not only the capital of the United Arab Emirates but a place that, like a new rose, is open to all in a showcase of its beauty and potential. Abu Dhabi's sleek, modern developments are envied by cities the world over, and yet these contemporary elements seem to blend seamlessly with a deep-rooted appreciation of culture and tradition. The climate in Abu Dhabi is warm and sunny most of the year, enabling residents to get out and enjoy her rich, cosmopolitan vibe and abundance of activities, many of which take place in and around the water. Indeed, visitors and locals alike find it easy to fall in love with the azure waters and tranquil beaches of the Arabian Gulf. A good number of the city's top annual events take place along the Corniche. Dotted with cafes & restaurants, this exquisitely landscaped Gulf-side promenade is the true the heart and soul of Abu Dhabi and features manicured parks and gardens, sandy beaches and even playgrounds for kids, all with that stunning glass and steel skyline rising up in the background. As the wealthiest of the seven Emirates, Abu Dhabi has big plans for present as well as the future. For example, branches of the Guggenheim and Louvre are key components of the Saadiyat Island development, and Yas Island is home to what is purported to be the world's largest indoor theme park, Ferrari World. Additionally, the city features several world class golf courses, thrilling Formula One events and some of region's most highly-rated hotels and restaurants. Indeed, Abu Dhabi has its eyes firmly set on making (and maintaining) a big splash on the world stage.
