Description:
Winner of multiple awards, the Manitoba Museum boasts an ever-changing variety of touring and specialty exhibits and nine permanent galleries. The museum's vast collection includes two million human artifacts, massive collections of fossils and natural history specimens, 40,000 plant specimens, thousands of rocks and minerals, and large holdings of Manitoba history and Hudson's Bay Company related items. There are impressive walk-though scenes, too, like a replica of a 17th century ship, an apothecary and a vaudeville theater. Plus, the science gallery encourages hands-on exploration, and the planetarium offers fascinating astronomy shows.
