This extravaganza takes place over two weeks in the middle of winter. It pulls in locals, families, and tourists too, sweeping everyone up in the fun and goodwill that pervade the town. Featured activities are a Royal Canadian Mounted Police race, a chili cook-off, skating parties, and a fireworks display. Naturally, there are many more events during the course of the festival, including dances, parades and special suppers. One of the best deals for skiers comes from Marmot Basin Ski Resort.
