Hy's
(Restaurants - American)
120 Adelaide St W, Toronto  ON  M5H 1T1 • 416-364-6600
Distance: ~440 m
Description: DOWNTOWN. Part of a small, historic steakhouse chain, Hy's is something of a Toronto institution, and it is a lovely place to enjoy a special night out. Perfectly aged steaks are the draw, with several cuts and preparations available, from an expertly charcoal broiled NY strip to a more elaborate filet mignon topped with crab and hollandaise. The Cajun spice rubbed ribeye is a winner, but one of the most popular choices is prime rib served with Yorkshire pudding. Sides include beer battered onion rings, fresh spinach or asparagus, and grilled tomatoes.

The prime rib is second to none, as well, but if you're not in the mood for steak, the veal chops and grilled ahi are excellent choices. Jump Café & Bar
(Restaurants - American)
18 Wellington St W Commerce Court East, Toronto  ON  M5L 1G4 • 416-363-3400
Distance: ~0.517 km
User Rating: 9 / 10
Description: DOWNTOWN. Jump is busy from open to close, virtually every day, with a clientele comprised largely of the area's white collar workforce. Power lunches gradually give way to post-work cocktails, which in turn segue into client dinners. It's not unusual for the after-work crowd to linger well into the evening though, so you may find getting a seat in the bar difficult! The menu is similar to sister restaurant Canoe, with a slightly more global flavor. Steaks and seafood are inventive and well-prepared, and pastas are wonderful.

Distance: ~0.608 km
User Rating: 10 / 10
Description: DOWNTOWN. This beloved chain of steakhouses bills itself as the "Home of Serious Steaks," and one visit will tell you that's more than a marketing slogan. Steaks are known for their sizzle, achieved by a dollop of butter when removed from the oven; your choice cut will still be sputtering when placed in front of you. Not for calorie-counters, but for true steak lovers, Ruth's Chris is also known for great service, an extensive wine list, and an atmosphere of comfortable elegance.

Tom Jones Steak House
(Restaurants - American)
17 Leader Ln, Toronto  ON  M5E 1L8 • 416-366-6583
Distance: ~0.625 km
Description: DOWNTOWN. Stained glass windows, warm woods, grand piano – Tom Jones is a throwback to the days when people “dined.” It has the exclusive feel of a private club, without the attitude. Start with traditional shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, French onion soup, or the tableside Caesar salad. Big (the smallest is a 10 oz filet mignon) USDA Prime steaks are the top choice for mains, although prime rib, lobster and crab are good alternatives. The exceptional wine list has earned Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence.
