Expert-classed conditions can also be found. Snowmaking facilities are available for 90% of the runs, and the resort prides itself on its grooming programs. Intermediate and beginner slopes are groomed nightly, in fact. Since the resort is only 15 minutes away from Banff, some of the hotels offer shuttle service to and from Mount Norquay. With 65 km (40 miles) of exceptional ski trails and numerous single track mountain bike trails, the provincial park is popular year round. Trails are well marked and some are lighted. The day lodge (open seasonally but complete with café, restrooms and showers, lockers and a fireplace) is a cozy spot to rest after a day on the trails. A total of 28 runs comprise the resort, and 5 chair lifts easily handle slope traffic. Snow-making facilities cover 85% of the runs, and grooming is a high priority.
