Traditional music in the background, along with a waterfall and intricately carved rosewood accents, sets the tone for an elegant meal of Szechuan favorites like crispy duck, orange beef, and shrimp in black bean sauce. One of the nicest restaurants in town!

Thang Long
(Restaurants - Asian)
869, côte d'Abraham, Québec  QC  G1R 1A4 • 418-524-0572
Distance: ~0.917 km
Description: SAINT-JEAN BAPTISTE. Thang Long is small, seating about 30 in its appealing dining room with deep blue walls and Chinese lanterns. The menu features traditional dishes from Vietnam, China and Thailand. Start with what are often cited as the best spring rolls in town, or try the chakis, a fried dumpling filled with shrimp, peppers, onions and sweet potatoes. Among the main courses, the Général Tao chicken is wildly popular, but virtually everything is quite tasty.

Voodoo, which is part of the popular Chez Maurice complex, boasts themed décor, soft lighting and the hypnotic beat of congas in the background, making you feel as though you've truly gone to the Dark Continent. Ginko Restaurant Japonais
(Restaurants - Asian)
560, Grande Allée Est, Québec  QC  G1R 2K1 • 418-524-2373
Distance: ~1.246 km
Description: SAINT-JEAN BAPTISTE. Chef-owner Shigeo Kimura opened his Toronto restaurant more than 20 years ago, and to the delight of local sushi fanciers he expanded to Québec in 2005. The two-level restaurant has several distinct dining spaces. At the sushi bar, order the omakase – the chef prepares a variety of incredible sushi and sashimi for you, some of which is not on the regular menu. At the sake bar it's customary to order izakaya, small portions of tasty tapas-like tidbits designed to complement beer and sake. If you have children dining with you, opt for the teppan yaki room upstairs, where a chef skillfully and acrobatically prepares a multi-course meal right at the grill table in front of you. Most of the menu is served throughout the restaurant which is great when you want sushi but your companions want donburi or another cooked dish. One thing's for sure – no one should leave Ginko hungry!

Yuzu Sushi Bar
(Restaurants - Asian)
438, rue de l'Église, Québec  QC  G1K 6H8 • 418-521-7253
Distance: ~1.406 km
Description: SAINT-ROCH. Yuzu's décor is very linear, with lots of squares and straight lines, highlighted by some cool cubby holes along one wall, each with its own recessed light source. The food, on the other hand, is about as curvy and innovative as it can be and still remain edible. Many dishes are Japanese-inspired, and sushi and sashimi hold a proud place on the menu, but beyond that the cuisine defies categorization. Quail on bacon and parmesan polenta, Spanish mackerel with pink grapefruit caramel and cabernet vinegar, and Tasmanian trout sashimi prepared eight ways all make appearances on the same menu. As do a trio of unlikely-sounding oyster shooters. Not to be overshadowed, desserts continue the theme – try apple sage cake or an intriguing fig milkshake. Everything sounds just a tad over-conceived, but the end results are stunningly successful.

Chez Dô
(Restaurants - Asian)
1626 Chemin St-Louis, Sillery  QC  G1S 1G7 • 418-681-9516
Distance: ~4.446 km
Description: SAINTE-FOY / SILLERY. Clean lines and a relaxed (some might say "Zen-like") ambience prevail at Chez Dô, and the service is first-rate. The Vietnamese menu offers a number of tempting table d'hôte and tasting menu options, but seafood dishes are particularly strong.

Restaurant L'Utopie
(Restaurants - Asian)
226, rue St-Joseph est, Québec  QC  G1K 3A9 • 418-523-7878
Distance: ~13.661 km
Description: SAINT-ROCH. Owned by the chef and sommeliers, Restaurant L'Utopie has been drawing raves since it first opened in 2004, both for its super stylish décor and its innovative approach to food and wine. The room itself is incredible, and incredibly chic: architectural metal and glass are softened and warmed by sentinels of birch trunks and accents of bright color, for an ultra modern effect. The avant-garde menu changes frequently, and is often developed to accompany certain wines. The melding of flavors and textures is paramount here, and while some dishes may sound odd on paper they translate to the plate perfectly. If you go to just one or two restaurants in Québec, this should be one of them!
